Photo Critique 10-23-09

This photo has used depth of field and color very well. It has a high aperture, because the closer images are in focus while the backround is out of focus. The use of Tea seems to be giving a sense of serenity and with the soldier, a feeling of strength or humility. Rule of thirds was also included in this photo to add more viewer focus on the main subject.
This picture draws it main attention to the fire in the street. It uses intising forms of color and shows a feeling of urgency. Depth of field was used in this, but focused on the Fire, firstly and the officer secondly. The aperture the photographer used seems to be a low one in order to capture more far away items. The photographer framed this in a way to tell that there is obviously tention or conflict going on between people.
